Per Lassi Karonen, born March 17, 1976 in Djura, is a Swedish rower.
Karonen has won the Swedish Championships in rowing in the class single sculler several times, last SC-gold was in 2008. Karonen has also, along with his trainer, Per "Pliggen" Andersson won several SC gold in the class double sculler.
Karonen has had successes in the World Cup in rowing in the class single sculler and also more prominent placement on the World Cup. At the World Championships 2007 in Munich rendered Karonen's sixth place not just to his best result at a World Cup but also qualified him to the 2008 summer Olympic Games in Beijing where he was 6th in the Final.
Lassi Karonen is rowing for the Leksand club Brud Piga RK. Karonen is living in Uppsala and by training with the Uppsala Academic rowing society, practicing as long as it is ice-free on Fyrisån. He started his rowing career with church boat rowing. Elite rowing began as late as at 26 years of age and six years later, he participated for the first time in the Olympics, the 2008 summer Olympic Games in Beijing.
